I installed NV Recent Topics mod from phpbb.com, didn't worry about the mods to prosilver. Followed the rest of the instructions. Then used this code in the custom/index_box.html

Then cleared my cache, you have to set the mod to enabled in the ACP.
I'm not very good at coding anything, but it seems to work. If anyone can clean up the recent_topics_body.html code, let me know.
